I've been meaning to try L'Autre Pied for the longest time and luckily I came across a groupon deal that was offering 50% off the 7 course tasting menu. They were very accommodating when I told them I was pregnant and that they will make the modifications as necessary as well as catering for my husband who is lactose intolerant.

Food was amazing. Eschewed the lunch sets for a la carte choices. Both the crab (Cornish crab with crab bisque panna cotta) and scallop starters were unbelievable. Mains of Guinea fowl and cod were excellent as well. Cheese platter was outstanding. The only drawback was the sommelier (or some kind of beverage "expert"). You would expect L'Autre Pied to be good, they have a Michelin star after all. However, my high expectations were well exceeded. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent and I would happily come back.
I actually came here on a voucher, so the value was even better than normal. Based on the excellence of the meal, I am surprised they even offered the voucher in the first place....more
The set lunch at L'Autre Pied was amazing value for money, for under £40 to have a 3 course meal of such a high standard was a real bargain, not to mention the good portioned sizes too. I had dinner at the same restaurant not long ago and it cost me three times more but in terms of quality it wasn't massively different.more
Here is why I deducted 3 stars out of 5:
1/2 star for ambience. Really rowdy group of pub-goers having a very loud party in the back of the restaurant. Management did nothing to stop this. I have never been to a Michelin star restaurant where this happens. Felt like a carnival.
