The Blue Door Bistro

About

The Blue Door Bistro provides a welcoming and informal bistro-style setting, with a fantastic menu to match. Light and airy at lunchtime and warm, cosy and candlelit by evening, the room is decorated on three sides with an antique panoramic view of London circa 1849: together with the rich mahogany panelled walls, effective use of mirrored glass, and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, an ambience rooted in the hotel's location is beautifully achieved. Executive chef, Martin Halls, used the finest of seasonal British ingredients, seasoned with the freshest of herbs from Chef's kitchen garden. With a wide range of vegetarian dishes and salads, commended with an AA rosette for its cuisine, you can rely on good honest food and impeccable service. We only use free range eggs and are committed to using sustainable fisheries for our fish supplies.

What a lovely bistro inside The Montague.

Met friends here for a birthday dinner. I like the decor. It's a balance of old and new and they get it right for the most part.

There are a few areas to the bistro. Inside dining room, bar/lounge, conservatory both an inside and out... So, plenty of space for everyone.

The greeting was pleasant and professional. Service was efficient, helpful,...more

This dining experience was top class. It had exquisite food with some of the best staff I have ever come across. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us through to the bar. The bar was very nicely laid out with with a warm and cozy feeling. The bar was tastefully decorated with a number of interesting artefacts tastefully displayed throughout...more

We had lunch in this nice little establishment. We were looking for something light and this fit the bill.

My steak baguette was phenomenal. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly and the baguette was so soft and tasty. The salad was reportedly good also.

There are several different dining rooms and we sat in the very front. At lunch time no one else was ever seated in this area. A...more

Located inside the Montague Gardens this is a great little restaurant. The decor is beautiful. Formal & elegant. We came here for breakfast & as soon as you walk in the buffets are overflowing with charcuterie's, fruit, breads, muffins, coffee, tea & fresh fruit juices! Once inside the dining room you have the option of buffet breakfast or the wait staff repeatedly offers you personal options...more

A wonderful experience in a little out of the way hotel. We were a party of 8 wanting to dine at 6:30 and using OpenTable UK Blue Door came up. Yelpers seemed to like this place so we gave it a try. Everyone enjoyed the gravlax appetizer and the onions soup was wonderful too. The only disappointment served was the burger. Amazing service we felt so pampered. Ambience valor. Highly recommend...more
