The Boathouse

About

An eclectic British pub, The Boathouse offers a modern British menu, showcasing the best in seasonal produce. Hearty mains and wholesome weekend brunches are bolstered by a menu of old school desserts, while the bar at The Boathouse offers the stock of real ales Young's pubs have become famous for. Chunky wood tables and a spirit and pump-lined bar make this a popular spot for relaxed and informal all-day dining.

In fairness I would give this place a 3.5*. My boyfriend and I had walked past this place on a walk along the Thames on a sunny day a few weeks ago. Knowing that there were a few pubs in this "plaza" area, we decided to come back yesterday for a pint of cider and a spot of lunch. Unwelcoming, rude, will never go back.

Wifi is poor, went in to do a bit of holiday research and the first stumbling block and mission impossible was please may we have two coffees? To which we got a gormless look of confusion and despair.

Forget about service... And don't even get me started on the shezlong... What's the point in having it if you don't want me to 'style out' on it?

C'mon...more

This place didn't blow me away like I thought it might. Like others have said, it's a great location when the weather is right but it's pretty much the same as all the other vanilla riverside pubs lining the Thames.

Prices are typical Youngs prices and the food does seem overly priced, especially the 12/13 quid they're asking for to have a basic enough burger and chips.

Table service was...more
