First Floor Projects

Overview

First Floor Projects was established by James Tregaskes in March 2009 with the intention to exhibit and represent the works of emerging international artists. The gallery's curatorial concern is to provide a forum for a core group of artists who, being from the same generation, embody the gallerys distinctive voice. Central to this is the salon style of presenting contemporary art in a residential space. Eschewing the conventions of the white cube environment, First Floor Projects seeks to reestablish the value of context.
