I really liked this place. The restaurant is located on a rooftop terrace away from the hustle of portobello road. A real oasis.

We randomly found the Garden Grill while walking around Notting Hill one Saturday afternoon. It was really fantastic. It has a lovely atmosphere about the place. You can sit on the balcony under some nice heaters, so even if its cold outside, you are really toasty.

This restaurant is not only the purveyor of mediocre, overpriced cuisine, but also has some of the most incompetent service I have ever experienced. Appetizers came out before drinks, and even then, had to be asked repeatedly for. Heat lamps were nice, but overwhelmingly hot. They don't take credit cards!more
With a roof terrace overlooking Portobello Road, Garden & Grill always seemed so appealing, and Thai food? What are we waiting for?!

My stars are in no way for the food here.
If you want a place to eat during cold but bright and lovely winter mornings then come upstairs to Garden & Grill. Their upstairs garden area is actually plastic coated (hopefully only for the winter season) and heating lamps abound so you get the natural light and ability to look down and people-watch while staying relatively cozy warm.
