The best thing that Garden & Grill has going for it in the seating on the deck upstairs. The food isn't too bad but unfortunately the service completely lets everything else down.

Would definitely return for a shared lunch or dinner here. We were attracted from the street by the wooden and foliage-covered roof terrace up above the bustle of Portobello Road. Staff leave you to it somewhat which is fine if you prefer a more relaxed meal. My dining partner and I shared a few dishes and they were all thoroughly tasty and well cooked.more

Pretty damned average. Fish cakes were processed crap from a frozen box. Curry was ok but not great. Service very average. They add a "discretionary" 10% tip to your bill.more

I really liked this place. The restaurant is located on a rooftop terrace away from the hustle of portobello road. A real oasis.

The atmosphere was lovely, eating outside but with the security and comfort of a canopy, heaters, and fresh flowers.

My stars are in no way for the food here.

If you want a place to eat during cold but bright and lovely winter mornings then come upstairs to Garden & Grill. Their upstairs garden area is actually plastic coated (hopefully only for the winter season) and heating lamps abound so you get the natural light and ability to look down and people-watch while staying relatively cozy warm.
