Lord Northbrook has a reputation for a great Sunday roast and boy do they deliver! On the last visit I had the mixed roast consisting of beef, lamb and pork, veggies, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds and cauliflower cheese. All of that for £16 (I think) and it is seriously tasty.

The service from the wait staff can be a little slow once you're sat down but the food comes quickly and hot.

Cosy banquettes, dark wood and framed vintage prints help to create a smart, laid-back atmosphere, and there's a fantastic selection of beers, ales and wines.

I've yet to eat here, though the menu is, I must say, a bit on the pricey side for the...more
