The latest in a long line of restaurants headed up by the Chowdury family since way back in 1957, Gufaa in London’s Angel is the result of years of practice and experience. A nice look to this Indian restaurant. A snap decision to eat here, at Gufaa, as time was tight and we were hungry. After a warm-ish welcome from one waiter, a different waiter was a little slow on the uptake with our orders but we got there in the end. On my first night in London, I wanted to have Indian food. By the time I arrived in Islington (where I was staying while visiting a friend), it was already 10PM but my friend said she knew a good place that would still be open. She took me to Gufaa which was just right across the street from the Angel tube stop.

We had takeout from here a couple of times. The takeout price was 20% off and we thought it was a nice deal. The food was flavorful and the staff was very pleasant. I really enjoyed the chili naan.
