Would give it 3.5 stars but am rounding up.

We had pad thai, and it was decent. We asked that ours be cooked without nuts, and they took great care to do so which I appreciated.

Ambience was also decent. High ceiling and relatively spacious.

Wagamama (pretty much all locations) is my favorite go-to place in London and the one place I seriously crave when I'm away. There is no other way to say it... the food is delicious, and warms you from the inside out on gray, rainy London days. I was in the area for work, and to be honest, a Wagamama pretty much always sounds good.

This one isn't too huge and is in a nice place, near Borough Market and Bankside. Service was fine, if a bit slow. Food was the same as ever. The sun coming in through the huge windows was a bit of an issue. It wasn't a hot day but it was a bit greenhouse-like inside.

On our way to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in Southwark, we chanced upon Wagamama. My friend had suggested this place to us, but we did not know if we were going to have the time to seek it out. When you go to Wagamama you expect something as it is a popular chain on the high street but to be honest with you, I think it is over rated. To say it is Japanese fusion is not fare on the great Japanese food we have in London.

I ordered a agadashi tofu which was not authentic and the stock doesn't taste of anything. Even in cheap Japanese restaurants they do a much better job of this...more
