With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989.Now with over 90 sites across the country it's just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal. The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer. No hassle, no rush, no skinny- decaff-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.

I am a huuuuge Cafe Rouge fan!!
So following an unexpected day off work and a successful job interview (plus the added extra of their near constant stream of easily accessible discount vouchers!) my local Cafe Rouge was the perfect spot to treat myself to lunch!

Then the hot chocolate came and alas it was so watery it was like drinking from a goldfish ball.. The venue itself is alright and clean but I haven't been back since. Just writing this...more

I opted for the coffee and croissant deal which offered a hot drink of your choice and a warm croissant with French butter and jam for £2.95. The waitress asked me if I wanted still or sparkling water but I declined the offer.
My latte and croissant...more

My partner ordered a Vegitarian and I ordered the hamburger with Brie. Her dinner was burnt to a crisp and mine was cold. Also the brie totally overpowered the dish. Don't think we will be rushing back...more
