Went there to meet with some other Neil Young fans. Its an Irish bar, for sure. Roomy and uncrowded on a Sunday afternoon. Rugby on the TV. Only had snacks this afternoon, not sure if that is the way it always is. Rumor is that it will be torn down later this year. Gentrification of Brixton?more

Looks nice, being an olde traditional kind of pub.

The best thing to drink though was Strongbow, which at 1.90 a half is rather more expensive than you'd expect in a down to earth, grimey local off the main drag.more

It's a divey regular's sports pub. And I'm OK with that.

The service won't be great as it's a family run institution who like the people they know and give you a strange eye if you walk in and they aren't familiar with the likes of you. In all my 11 years of gig going to the Brixton Academy I did not know about this place until Friday night when I impromptually went to see the Hives with two friends. When told about the location of this place I was unsure given that the nearby Goose and Whetherspoons are dodgy as hell.
