Been there a few times only, but I really like the decoration and the service. The garden beer is really cool and big, surprinsingly they got ping-pong table, so if you fancy a game while drinking, go for it.
We happened to know you can get a free beer using their feedback system, so I was even happier...but ended up playing ping-pong like crap ;-)more
Ate here last week with friends and again yesterday. They have a good selection of beverages. Overall the food was good. I can only speak for my dish but I know that the roast chicken I ordered was not only tender and juicy, it was crazy flavorful! Prices are decent and servings are a hood size but I'd recommend a larger portion for the fish and chips.more
I have a bit of a love/ hate relationship with The Wandle.
I Love: the decor (shabby chic), the food, and the ping pong table in the garden.
I hate: the prices, how busy it gets (and the fact they let people reserve tables on a Friday night) the lack of beer choice (lots of boring lager and a couple of draught) and I hate that they put Aussie rules football on the TV when there are Premiership...more
The Wandle is a good pub, very South African Heavy on weekends!
Food is pretty good, service OK, just a bit rowdy and smelly at the weekends.
The garden is always a popular spot in the Summer and they have live music on Saturdays.
Give it a go!
This is a great place to spend a sunny day, thanks to a fantastic beer garden that helps you forget you're still in the thick of the city. A good drinks selection, excellent staff (even on a busy Saturday) and a top quality food menu (the platters are particularly delicious) don't let the side down either.
