I visited in 2009, and I still dream about the chicken and mushroom pie I had. I have yet to find anything similar in NY, but keep on searching. This pub was PACKED when I visited and I can see why. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. Before leaving I snapped a picture of the pub so I can always remember this place and hopefully visit again!more
I stopped here for a snack in between a cultured-pack day in London. Or walking all over the city absorbing the beauty, culture and sights! The pub itself is rather large and, on a Friday afternoon, pretty full but not insanely so. We were able to find a wee table in the back which pretty quickly...more
This place is a weird, mixed bag, but I love it all the same. Its location makes it an interesting cross-section for locals and tourists, and cheap beer makes it appealing even if you'd rather go someplace quieter.
My friend got slapped in the face by a drunk old man in this pub (while he often deserves to be smacked, this was not the case in this particular incident). It makes me laugh...more
