Despite the name, Angel Curry Centre in London’s Islington in Chapel Market is actually a small and perfectly-formed modern Indian restaurant. Short on neither competition nor regulars, the Angel Curry Centre’s great success is based on excellent, well-presented food at very attractive prices. All your favourites are here on the menu like chicken tikka masala and chicken dupiaza. Side and vegetarian dishes easily match the high standard of the meat dishes. And here’s another pocket-friendly aspect of Angel Curry Centre restaurant: you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic drink and there’s no corkage charge. Yet there’s no rowdiness, the tables of 30 to 50 year olds causing nothing more than a healthy buzz. It serves traditional dishes like tika, birigiani, balti, tandoori and korma along with tasty nan bread, papadoms and pilau rice!! Immense portions and very reasonable prices...that are the only pros of Angel Curry Centre.
The food is rather bland and excessively oily. I may be harsh, but as I have grown up eating Indian food - I recommend eating elsewhere where you can eat chicken tikka masala which is not pink and filled with white small lumpy bits of garlic/coconut.more
Oil slicks? Inconceivable! As wittily set-up as his closing line was (amazeballs, BTWs) I was so convinced that Vince T had had an off-night at Angel Curry Centre that I had to, in the name of all-that-is-holy-research, make sure that my information was not incorrect.

Food is quite tasty and reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back.

Having had the great fortune of having plenty of home cooked Indian, Pakistani, Bahraini, etc, etc food before, I am certain this is the 2nd best Indian restaurant I have eaten at in the UK. It's our favorite Indian/curry restaurant, and we go there frequently now, especially because the food doesn't have a layer of greasy oil on top.
