I believe that the owners Greene King are trying to move away from being a gay pub.

They say they want an inclusive venue for everyone however there are now security staff in the Gents and in the downstairs club area. All in all not as welcoming as it used to be. I think international visitors who know it by reputation will be very disappointed.more

Literally one of the most terrible bars I have ever been to. Letchy old men, groping you at every opportunity. Almost got thrown out for not dancing on the dance floor because I was chatting to some friends. Bouncer said 'they're really territorial in here so you have to dance like a banshee'. In the toilets men literally were staring at our junk... Wonderful.more

I walked over to City of Quebec while I was staying at Four Seasons Park Lane in Mayfair, London

I had no idea this was a gay bar and but my brother and I didn't care, the atmosphere was lively and the only 2 seats in the house that became available were at the bar and we took them.

The bartenders were nice and chatty with us Americans....more

"I know where to take you." Said my ex and London native Andrew. "It's a *real* sugar daddy bar, where the sugar dads start around 65-70 and the cakes are real young."

With the floral Victorian wallpaper and an all ages international crowd, I watched the 22 year olds score with the 70 set time and time again.

"They are prostitutes." The guy drinking next to me said bluntly.

"Not always."...more

Apparently this is a gay bar but it's right off Oxford Street and tourist shopping central, so it's half packed with retail weary visitors and people like me, who popped in from the rain. The staff are nice and the bevs are fairly priced, so have a drink and don't discriminate. Canadians are people too.more
