Opened in 1983 by passionate chef Sally Clarke, this local legend on Kensington Church Street has become a firm favourite with professional critics and amateur gourmets alike. For 21 years, Sally served a four-course "no choice" set dinner, but now there is a weekly changing menu that showcases her passion for high quality seasonal produce.
Herbs and vegetables come from organic suppliers in South East England; buffalo mozzarella is flown in from Naples twice a week; and shellfish is sent overnight by rail from Scotland.
Popular dishes include loin of Balmoral roe deer with apple and sage sauce; baked fillet of Cornish brill with herbed crumbs and thyme cream; and dark chocolate and chestnut tart. Clarke's is quite simply an unforgettable experience.
Next-door to the restaurant is Clarke's Shop, a provisions shop selling freshly baked goods from the restaurant kitchen, including pastries, breads, tarts, cakes, muffin and biscuits alongside a daily changing selection of fruits and vegetables.

The food was great but the service was awful. They were clearly much more interested in serving their regular clientele, which was a disappointment because we live in Notting Hill- it was just our first time. We probably won't go back given all the choices in the area.more

Very nice experience. My grandson and I split a very large ribeye steak, my daughter had the prix fix diinner of fish, and my wife had a beautiful chilled soup and the chicken dish. All wonderfully prepared an delivered by a friendly and helpful staff. Very spendy but well worth it.more
This is one of a kind, daily menu of the freshest food combined brilliantly. We talked about each and every bite during dinner, and afterwards. Generous portions. Reasonable wine prices. The bread is wicked good. Going back again before leaving London. Go!more
During a few days in London with my parents, we came here on the recommendation of my neighbour. The food was amazing and I really liked the atmosphere. Reservations are difficult to come by, but if you're willing to eat earlier, you may be able to get in the same day (I called mid-afternoon on a Thursday and we were able to get in for a 6:30 pm reservation). The staff was very friendly and...more
