The Weir Bar & Dining Room

A family run gastropub with a fine dining restaurant feel, The Weir Bar and Dining Room is located close to the Grand Union canal just off of Brentford’s High Street. The popularity of this long running favourite is not least down to the dedication The Weir’s kitchen staff to serving up only the very best seasonal food, traditional in style but created using the very best produce, the most effective methods and the greatest care too. Wherever possible local traders supply ingredients to The Weir Bar and Dining Room, fish is delivered fresh daily and much, including organic breads, pastas and ice creams, is prepared from scratch in house. At the bar, likewise, a well thought out list includes well sourced wines and beers including European lagers, British beers and excellent freshly mixed cocktails. Probably the oldest pub in Brentford The Weir, previously The White Horse, is full of atmosphere and charm, attractively appointed in a modern style but still with original features aplenty

You have to know where it is though (I wouldn't have found it by myself). It is on the canal in Brentford and has a...more

Chateaubriand is good but at £45 you are paying more in this pub than in a Mitchelin Star restaurant over the road in Chiswick's Le Vacherin (not on menu at the moment from what I can tell though but recently I remember they had priced it around £40). I'll visit this place occasionally when I don't fancy trecking out to...more

I would have never known about this place, and I'd certainly recommend it again. while so many of the items sounded great, I went with fish and chips. the wine list is fairly sized, all things considered. the service is great. the food is timely and very well prepared and...more
