Fish and chips best one I've ever had. Very huge chunk of fish with min batter. Meaty fries. They won awards from seafish nationally best. Ordered regular cod and haddock with chips. Huge amount. Total 17pounds. Sit outside in front bench and order ale from the Golden heart.more

Hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had.

I usually opt out of ordering this dish because it's usually over battered and greasy. This was nothing like that.

The fish was moist and quite delicious. I'm glad that I was able to stop by here during my trip to London.more

I miss Poppies like none other.

Brilliantly light, crispy, flaky and filling fish & chips...without the grease hangover!

But in the end, I think they got it. ;)more

There are 2 distinct vibes here: inside seating (calm, bright, small and warm) and outside stainless steel table (street style and where the action is).

We did outside. It was raining and there was an awning to protect us. The malt vinegar...more

The calamari and chips are absolutely delicious. Super crispy, homemade tartar sauce, and very large portion - I think I got 10 rings plus a generous helping of chips! By the end of the meal I was stuffed and very pleased.

My boyfriend ordered the cod which he said was also fried to perfection (though he wasn't so impressed by the portion, just okay with it). Not too expensive either...more
