Lovely gastro pub on the edge of Acton and Chiswick. We often visit here for lunch at the weekends. It's best to turn up early or book ahead though, as they get very busy both in the restaurant and in the bar area. Nice selection of wines, though lacking a bit on the ale. A lovely pub with an old fashioned feel at the front of the building, with large windows looking out on the green. At the back of the building there is a very good tapas restaurant, set in a beautiful 'distressed chic' room which leads out onto a large beer garden/outside eating space. Great Spanish options (not just boring tapas either) sit alongside British classics. During our time in Chiswick if me and the wife were thinking about going somewhere for lunch you can bet half of the time we ended up here. Lovely large garden area when the weather is good too. One of those places where the menu always appeals and it's often difficult to choose.more

Usually excellent food, but occasionally a bland item appears. The fresh baked bread that you can purchase by the loaf to bring home is excellent. The large outdoor garden is wonderful with lots of sunny and shady spots.more

Not sure if this place is 5 stars or none,

Five because the food is brilliant, no stars because the service is possibly the worst in west london. The staff genuinely don't seem to give a sh*t.

This isn't a one off either. I live around the corner and frequent the DoS and every time I find myself repeatedly asking for wine, for food, for water, for the bill. Zero attentiveness.
