The Eagle

There are some wonderful pubs in the Shepherds Bush area, and The Eagle nests well alongside them. A Geronimo classic, with fires, sofas, plenty of room to sit at the bar, and a garden, this characteristic pub always brings a smile to any country folk living in London. Serving up daily specials and a changing menu, the great thing about pubs in the suburbs of this city is that there is always ample space to sit down and enjoy food and drink with enough friends to recreate the traditional country kitchen table. Bringing back memories of the Duke of Cambridge and the Chelsea Ram, The Eagle is another fine example of Geronimo's take on the British pub.

This is one of my favorite local pubs in Shepherds bush with by far the best beer garden in London. It is huge!

With a great selection of lagers, ales, ciders and spirits, and fantastic menu you cant go wrong. A notch above typical pub grub, they have an amazing steak, sea bream, lamb and your go to fish and chips or burger. Outside in the summer they do bbq in the beer garden with a small...more

Ordered the most expensive item (cote de boeuf) times two (4 people). Waitress offered either pepper sauce or bearnaise sauce and we chose the latter. We were then told that both were "off" and we could have a choice of gravy or tarragon butter. With steak? I asked for French mustard but no French mustard so was offered English instead. Result was me leaving the Eagle to pop next door and buy...more

I remember when the Eagle was a regular "pub", but on the first visit in years it has gone all gastro on me. It's pretty nice décor inside and they have three real ales, though the focus is definitely on the youth market. At the back they have a dining area, but we were only here for a drink. My main issue was the noise level-blimey it was loud. However, it was a Saturday night and I suspect...more

How many stars do you give a place that still hasn't served you an hour after ordering a couple of sandwiches and a burger, but that gives you your drinks free?

I'm giving it 2 as I'd racked up a £20 bill before the point of giving up.

It's still a nice enough place and all that (see earlier review) but frankly if they haven't got it together to walk 2 yards to the table and tell us they've...more

The Eagle was taken over about 12 -18 months ago I think and has been transformed to one of the best pubs in the area. The pub is now owned by a group and the transformation from previous to the new Eagle is spectacular.

A wonderful and renovated garden which is used for bbq's in the summer months and a nice restaurant area for the winter months along with a good bar if you just want a beer...more
