Fabrizio Restaurant - Clerkenwell
Overview
Though most are shopping for diamonds while in London’s Hatton Garden, Fabrizio’s may be brightest gem in the area. This intimate, family-run restaurant is refreshingly unpretentious, with café-style wooden chairs and tables and paintings of Mediterranean food to whet the appetite for the huge Italian flavours on offer. The genial chef/host Fabrizio is always at hand with suggestions from either the a la carte or outstanding seasonal specials menu. Regular favourites include warm chicken livers with wild mushrooms and fried polenta, homemade spaghetti with baby clams, chilli and cherry tomato sauce and seared beef tagliata with balsamic reduction and rocket. Prices rarely go over the £13 mark, making it a diamond for both gullet and pocket.

We initially chose a table near the back of the restaurant, but the owner then suggested we move closer to the window (a clever marketing trick). We obliged, and the waitress took our...more
I went here last night with a bunch of girls for a friend's birthday. Not only is this little Italian place right around the corner from me, but it is absolutely delicious. The owner greeted us enthusiastically and made sure we were very comfortable throughout our meal. We split two bottles of their house sauvignon blanc and then all got different entrees. After much deliberation, I ended up...more
Excellent little Italian restaurant with amazing food. Wished we lived closer so that we could go more often. The owner/chef is very friendly and definitely ask him what the specials are. Great place for a low key dinner.more
