I really, really liked it. I work just around the corner and their liver with potatoes & carrots (which were then substituted by cabbage and peas) was delicious! And for only £3.70 I got a delicious and nutirious lunch. My co-worker told me it's a greasy spoon place - but it really is not - you can make it as healthy or as unhealthy as you want.
True, it's not fancy inside - but the people...more
A no fuss, British version of a greasy spoon. Cheap yet filling meals - I had a lunch yesterday of a fried egg sandwich and a cup of tea for £2.50 - served at old looking tables surrounded by locals. It feels like an authentic bit of London, somehow.
The staff is really great, too. I didn't realise it was cash-only, but they were really kind about it. I was directed to the nearest cashpoint...more
This place is immense. A proper cafe, super value and good portions (Sirloin Steak is around £5!)

If you have an appetite this is the place for you. Bear in mind, super busy at lunch but absolutely worth a visit, particularly if you...more
No fuss, just good, filling, food! It's not much to look out, but expect wholesome, qualily food at a very reasonable price with friendly staff! There are so many options to choose from and so far I've found nothing I haven't liked. This makes this one of my top lunchtime destinations.more
I just had to add this to Yelp as I really rate it as one of the few original Lan-dan (London) cafes.
For £2 you can get something really tasty for breakfast: bacon and egg sandwich for example, bit greasy but seriously good value. For £3 for lunch you can get a great sandwich with fresh ingredients, such as proper chicken meat. The tea here is legendary, and at 60p a real snip.
