I earned excess brownie points for taking my Veggie boyfriend to The Gate for a birthday treat - I'm not a veggie but that wasn't a problem at all. I've wanted to visit The Gate for a while now and finally got the chance to check it out for lunch today. I reserved a table online and mentioned in the comments my intolerance to gluten and onions. I love vegetables but this style of cooking is not for me. I had the deep fried courgette flower stuffed with goat's cheese that everyone here seems to love but I more tolerated it than anything else.
