Overview

Local favourite Geales is an old-fashioned fish and chip restaurant which has been frying up its simple, delicious seafood dishes for over 68 years. The subdued décor adds a hint of Notting Hill glamour to this otherwise straightforward restaurant, but it's the fish that everyone has come for. Specials come fresh from Devon and Cornwall, and there are plenty of favourites such as dressed crab, salmon and leek fishcakes and oysters straight from the bar.

The fish that day was Haddock. I determined I don't like Haddock.

The restaurant itself is quiet and intimate. I plan on giving it another chance.more

THE place for fish & chips in London! Now F&C has never been labelled as posh food, but when dished out in a smart restaurant with white table cloth, smartly dressed waiters and a reasonable wine menu, you can be forgiven for not knowing. And though the poorper would think £15 is stiff for battered fish, I'd argue that it's very reasonable compared to many other seafood places I've been to....more

This is a very lovely place in the Notting Hill area. Hub and I literally searched all pubs and restaurants that offers the best beer battered fish and chips. And we def found it here. Among their local fav is the sticky toffee pudding that was not listed on the menu.So good that I wish we were on the next flight to London. No reservations required but most locals do. Waitress was very...more

Bad bad bad. Below average fish and chips. Greasy, soggy, and lacking flavor. Plus, they made us wait over an hour for it and were rude. Like it was somehow our fault they forgot to put in our order. Twice. Didn't even offer us a free drink to lay over while we waited for the food. And it wasn't like the place was busy.

Definitely not worth walking over a mile to get here like I did....more
