This place is probably better known for it's tourism purposes than it's function as a pub -- supposedly this historic pub is where Sherlock Holmes liked to get some relaxation. I swung by while waiting for my friend at Baker St tube station (conveniently across the street from the pub).
The food here is as you'd expect, I had a beef pie which is done fairly well. The pastry was a little bit...more
After 30 minutes of having the hardest time finding a place to eat, we decided to come here and it was delicious!! We all got the Taylor Walker Steak & Ale Pie and wow so good. Great flavors, it wasn't too salty. The crust is always my weakness and I couldn't stop eating it, even when I was full. I also got the fries...so yummy!
Service was a bit slow, but at least the food was worth the wait.more

The crime scene was just down the street at the corner pub, The Globe. A brisk walk on a chilly Summer afternoon...more
I have ended up in the pub a few times as it is near a lot of work places and close to a tube to get me home after!
My visits have normally been spurred on by the need to find a pub in the area that is showing the football / rugby. They have lots of screens so matter where you stand / sit, you can get eyes-on the game.
Even though when it is really busy, you can get served almost straight...more
