Beautiful space...but on a global basis, the food was below par for what they are seeing to attain. Good, but not special. For example they have a Pinot Noir on the rather limited by the glass list...it was not good, i mentioned this to the wine steward, who agreed...then why have it as one of only 6 options? Again, an American in London may find this menu a bit odd. This is a beautiful restaurant, with a great wine list, and quiet, understated service. You would never know this restaurant was part of a hotel. Just excellent all around. Great ambience. Mussels soup, calamari, rabbit pappardelle...all great. If you are near Trafalgar a must go!more
considering the prices, and the fact it wasn't particularly busy, I felt the service was a little patchy. very friendly but not as good as it could be. we had the £30 set menu, 3 courses and a wine. calamari was good, not great, not tough but not that soft either. my misses had the chickpea soup which was bad, thick, bland. this was all rectified by the hake, amazing, and the crab tagliolini...more
Very surprised to FTR one of London's "blooming" restaurant- according to Conde Nast Traveller. Well, considering it has existed in London for exactly 1 year now, and wasn't teeming on a Thursday night, I would say it didn't quite hit the "hip"/ "cool" or "good food" radar of London's foodie network.
