A really nice, big but cosy Youngs pub. The oft-mentioned comfy leather seating makes for a relaxing experience, with great food and even better in the summer with bbqs in the huge beer garden. Pub quiz on Wednesday and live jazz on Sunday. Quickly became our local after moving into the area. This should be the best pub in the town, BUT its not.

Its hit and miss on the food, service & beers. I only go there because its big enough for groups and it at the end of my street.

There seems to be a complete lack of direction from the management. Clean your beer lines and for gods sake clean your pints properly.

There are several reasons why this place gets 5 stars...

The food is amazing. Both an extensive menu for a pub and absolute quality. You may look at a pub menu and think £10+ is too much, but let's be honest, it is becoming the norm. And for that money you really do get value, both plentiful food and genuine quality. The food tastes fresh and perfectly cooked...more
