Highgate Cemetery is a haven of beauty and tranquillity, a place of peace and contemplation where a romantic profusion of trees, memorials and wildlife flourish in the heart of London.

It is designated Grade I on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest and is divided into the East and West cemeteries. There are approximately 170,000 people buried in around 53,000 graves at and it is notables include Karl Marx, Douglas Adams, George Elliot and Malcolm McLaren

Prices and Opening Times

Entry to the East Cemetery is £4, while entry to the West Cemetery is £12, including entry to the East Cemetery.: £4.00 to £12.00 (USD5.16) per ticket
Children under 17 can visit the East Cemetery for free. A child ticket for the West Cemetery is £6. Children under eight are not permitted in the West Cemetery.: Up to £6.00 (USD0.00) per ticket

There is a fee for entering both the East and West cemetery, and the West is only accessible by guided tour. Please check the website for the latest admission prices and tour times.

Highgate Cemetery is closed 30 minutes before and during funerals and you may be asked to wait outside.
