An AMAZING collection of artifacts arranged in evocative displays, telling the

stories of British and Imperial troop engagements from WWI-present.

We have been to many war and military museums, but few tell the stories of war with such impact as this one. The WWI exhibit impressed us the most, especially the posters and photographs. The quotes and diaries and movies from those who were there...more

I had my first experience of the Imperial War Museum on the 30th of June for The Night Before the Somme event. Wonderful place - the building is huge and very well organised. It's broken down into different sections representing the different wars. Each section has a different decor and there's a small cafe. I have only been once, on a Saturday - it was busy but without being too hectic. It has a nice atmosphere and you can definitely keep going back.more

But the IWM had a hundred ways to bring it to life, from films containing actual war footage, to fantastically...more

This is such a great museum- so many things to see from so many different periods of time. I was here before it was renovated so I can tell you that it is a world class museum now. The V2 Rocket alone is worth the visit, but the Spitfire is such a joy to behold. They really have some awesome one-of-a-kind items in here, plan on spending a few hours here looking around.

Best of all, the entry...more
