I spent an entire day in this building. I enjoy reading up on my history and can dive into the occasional war bits. By no means am I huge war history buff, but this place grabs with you modern displays, excellent a pieces of history, and tells you a story of the past.

I spent roughly 4 hours in the WWI section. I literally read every bit that was written down. They captured my attention the...more

An AMAZING collection of artifacts arranged in evocative displays, telling the

stories of British and Imperial troop engagements from WWI-present.

We have been to many war and military museums, but few tell the stories of war with such impact as this one. The WWI exhibit impressed us the most, especially the posters and photographs. The quotes and diaries and movies from those who were there...more

I had my first experience of the Imperial War Museum on the 30th of June for The Night Before the Somme event. It was a great experience filled with film, music, talks, theatre, poetry and remembrance. We got to see the Real to Reel exhibition which takes you through a century of war movies, currently on till the 8th of January 2017 - I now have a collection of movies on my must see list. It a...more

But the IWM had a hundred ways to bring it to life, from films containing actual war footage, to fantastically...more

As a massive ww2 geek this was on my must visit list when recently in London.

The museum is clearly signposted when you come out of the tube station and is only a short walk away.

Entry is free and there are toilets dotted all around.

Housekeeping over ... this museum is fantastic!!

We spent an hr and a half in here and only had to leave because it was closing time. I could have spent...more
