Peter Jones is the posher brother of John Lewis and a West London institution. A good traditional department store where you find everything from sofas to lightbulbs. My go-to place for bedlinen and bath towels, they offer just the right balance between good quality and funky design. Emphasis on quality, and there is that "never knowingly undersold" thing ...

we stranded here because of the rain and the crowded cafes around. cake is good! long waiting time though, a little understaffed today. try to go for a table at the huge window, the view is worth it (;more
Don't bother using their bureau de change. They treat you like a criminal trying to rob them. Asked 20 questions to buy a small of Euros from a UK debit account. Very different experience than at M&S which is where I usually go. Worse yet they had a hard time figuring out how to clear my card from the keypad. Seems like they never have anyone exchange money.more
It's all the price and quality of John Lewis, but with awful, terrible customer service.
I had to truck back downstairs and queue a second time because the idiot at the till couldn't find in his computer the item that they hadn't tagged, to it took me an extra 25 minutes to spend £2.75.
No, he couldn't be bothered phoning downstairs or ring up someone down below to have a look at the shelf...more

While the selection is slightly different/smaller than its sibling John Lewis over on Oxford Street, the haberdashery section at PJ is actually a little easier to navigate and the staff are usually a touch calmer.
I love all aspects of this place from the haberdashery, to the crazy electronics section,...more
