Went for Sunday roast. Lovely restaurant in the back, and they accommodated our pram which was unexpected. I had the beef roast, served with a nice helping of gravy and duck fat roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and veggies. Nice beer: good reals, good selection, well kept, fresh.

Average food. Starters expensive for size of portions and effort in preparation (i.e. don't bother), main courses very nice, pork belly and trout nice. Sticky toffee pudding disappointing, just sponge with average sauce and ice cream, seemed like it was prepared in a real hurry.

Although a little bit of an upgrade from the Assembly House nearby, I don't think I can say too much about this place. They had some good beers on cask, but the rest of the menu was the macro selection you see everywhere else.

The starters were ok, but nothing to rave about.

Not bad for a casual pint though.more

I've walked past The Oxford more times than I can count but Easter monday came along and something inside me cried out for a cheeky beverage.

I was surprises at the big crowd the bank holiday had drawn but luckily still got a table to plunk down on.

For a Monday night The Oxford was extraordinarily busy. The atmosphere was jovial, chatty and I had the feeling of being in a local's bar. The clientele was a mixed bunch, although there wasn't a Shoreditch type trendie in sight.
