I stumbled onto this place back in 2007 on my first trip to London. After one huge portion of fish which was fried to perfection, and for a cheap price too, I was completely hooked! Since then I've been coming back every few years. I think it says a lot that over 7 years total the Laughing Halibut is still the same great place with excellent food and excellent, friendly service.more

Cod made to perfection. Crispy on the outside, ever so tender on the inside.

The chips are just like they should be. Add some salt and vinegar and you are in heaven. A chippy just the way it should be!

Eat in if you manage to get a Table :).more

I went here and I will say that it is very good and far above average. The service was very fast, I want to say less than 5 minutes from order (haddock & chips) to it being on my table ready to eat. The chips were good too. And for £8 it was a great value.

I will say this ranks in the top 5 places I've had fish & chips, anywhere.more

Very solid local fish n chips joint.

The haddock was delicious, cod was not quite as good but still above average. Chips were golden and fluffy.

It's quite popular during lunch time. Service is very efficient. Nice to have such a place near my flat.more

The halibut is not laughing, he's dead, fried, & delicious.

You know it's good when the Coffee place next door has a sign in front to not form a queue to block their entrance. As a novice, I formed the queue not realizing that you can just go directly inside if you are not doing take away. My bad.

Our friendly server recommended the haddock and cod. The women working here are awesome....more
