We had a couple of missed food moments in London (two-hour wait for Dishoom, Bumpkin Notting Hill closing down, etc.), but we were very glad that the Laughing Gravy came through.

A quick walk down Blackfriars Road, Laughing Gravy is a cute restaurant with a beautiful dining area and bar. The menu is offers dishes that infuse the essence of traditional British food with new-style cooking.

We stopped in late on a Friday evening with no reservation. The host was welcoming and friendly and let us know that a table would be coming up soon as the first batch of early diners were finishing up. We didn't wait too long before we were seated.

The restaurant is cosy but with clean lines and with a conservatory roof inside that adds a light, airy feel. Within a few minutes we were...more
