Overview

With its understated forest-green shop front on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, Le Chardon might look like just another Parisian-pastiche bistro – but step inside and you'll realise that this historic Victorian restaurant is the real deal. Originally the site of a David Greig grocery store, the restaurant retains all of the site's original wall tiles and is decorated with Parisian street signs, blackboard menus and kooky objets d'art. Romantic and cosy, this restaurant is renowned for its authentic bistro fare and has become the favourite haunt of canoodling couples and Francophilic foodies. Don't miss the Toulouse sausages with mash and onion gravy, and the profiteroles with ice cream and warm chocolate sauce.
