Myddelton House Gardens was created by E A Bowles (1865-1954). Stimulate your senses and take in the serenity our exotic range of flora and fauna, buy fresh produce grown in our very own Kitchen Garden, or explore the colourful Alpine Meadow. There is a beautiful carp lake, Glass House, a number of historical artefacts and over 1,000 naturalised bulbs. This is the perfect place to visit to celebrate the Year of the English Garden.

Opening Times:

Open seven days a week all year round from 10:00 - 17:00 (or dusk if earlier) except for Christmas day and Boxing day. Detailed opening times below:

This place is well hidden, but well worth the detour if you are after a quiet stroll and some peace and quiet.

The car park used to be free, but they have recently installed pay-and-display, so be careful you don't get caught out with these new charges. They do have a lovely cafe that does some nice home made cakes and simple food, and a wonderful enclosed courtyard where you can sit outside...more
