Fego Caffe Restaurant

Based on a concept started in South Africa in 1996, they opened their first Fego Caffe in the UK in early 2003 and since then have opened a further 3 restaurants with a further 3 to open in 2009.

Just like the unique rich and fragrant coffee they serve Fego Caffé offers the perfect blend of a contemporary restaurant and a casual eating atmosphere offering freshly prepared quality food from their extensive menu.

Innovative and successful, the Fego Caffé brand is continually expanding, locally and in South Africa where Fego began. Reasonably priced and accessible, their Fego Caffé stores boast stylish continental décor where customers can enjoy a respite from their busy day.

The Fego Caffé concept works because it stays current. Without deviating from the original model to always serve the perfect espresso based coffees and quality freshly prepared food, they are continually evolving to stay ahead of the game.

As such they regularly update their menus.

Had lunch at Fego today...here are my thoughts:

Ambiance is great. Love the location and the restaurant itself is quaint.

Service can be summed up as terrible. Servers are extremely impatient and unfriendly and I felt like I was bothering them by asking to have our order taken, requesting water, etc.

Food is okay, definitely overpriced for what it is.

My eggs benedict were over cooked and the muffins were dry and hard (possibly old), with a slice of cheap ham underneath. The presentation was also poor. If you look with attention you'll realise this is actually a cheap place (old seats and plates) pretending to be cool (cakes on shown and...more

After walking the stretch of St. John's Wood High Street, we finally reached this great restaurant. The menu is HUGE and has almost too many good options--definitely struggled with making a final decision. We got to sit outside and enjoy the cute downtown atmosphere, and I got the shaved salmon and fennel salad that had mixed greens, cucumber, snap peas, avocado, pomegranate seeds, and pumpkin...more

Cafe Fego is located on St Johns Wood High Street and serves up good burgers, great breakfast, fresh orange juice and very good coffee. While there are a few items on the menu worth mentioning (like the rarebit), my favourite meal is a late brunch: a Spicy Scramble, fresh orange juice, a skinny flat white and a slice of red velvet cake. All of these are really good.

The service is a bit slow...more
