Aveda was founded in 1978 specifically for beauty industry professionals, creating products from plants and flowers such as skincare, haircare, make up and perfume. They now have 7,000 professional hair salons and spas in 24 countries worldwide.
The salon (downstairs) is lovely, smells gorgeous - I can't fault them on that. My problem with this Aveda salon is the price you pay - I paid £45 for a manicure - I decided to splash out as I thought it'd be something a bit special! Well it was certainly different - I laid down on a massage bed and was given a lovely arm and hand massage which was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Ok, I have few luxuries in my life - I don't drink or smoke, so I have to spend my money somewhere :-) Located in the trendy Westbourne Grove, Aveda is my favourite salon. The decor inside is what you'd expect - very modern and sleek. A cut & blow-dry includes a scalp and shoulder massage where you get to choose which oil you'd like (I like that part). Spending entire day in this beauty heaven is something I am currently dreaming about..I already have a plan ready. I would start with a full body massage, then maybe go with a facial and then manicure and pedicure. Last get a perfect new hair color and cut. In between sip some bubbling drink.. Perfect.
