This easily would have been a 5 star review except for the service once I sat down. I was dining alone and had made a reservation for one.

Stopped by for a couple of pints and the Sunday Roast, which they did in fact serve in the afternoon. Many places seem to stop serving the roasts after lunch, but they had a wonderful roast lamb with veg that was appropriately priced and delicious.

Off the pudding menu, I had a chocolate tart which turned out to be a bit too much chocolate for me, but I wouldn't hold it against them.more

WARNING - BEWARE, I would avoid at all costs!!

I dined and stayed at their hotel. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. To sum it up, I got violently ill after dining here and the process and the final resolution was absolutely appalling.

Nicely designed pub/restaurant with proper food (not only simple greasy pub food - although nothing wrong with that either). Besides beer and other drinks they also serve fresh squeezed juices. I had the pheasant with mashed potatoes and it was very good. You can also try fish and chips here.

I ordered the pulled pork and beef burger, and told them I had a dairy intolerance. The waitress said she would remove the cheese. Great.

About 20 minutes later, a bunless burger comes out. The brioche bun had milk in it, and so it had been removed, along with the cheese.

It would have been nice to be told this before the food came out - I would have probably picked something else.
