Opened in 1996 the Havelock Tavern is one of London's original gastro pubs. Unlike many others that have come and gone since, we have changed very little over that time. Rather than become a restaurant in an old pub building, we focus on being a pub that serves really good food. The atmosphere is lively and informal so that anyone can eat, drink and feel at home. We don't take bookings and orders are placed at the bar. We are not trying to be sophisticated, but aim to provide you with a good, relaxing time. Our customers are a good mix of locals and others who have made the journey to spend an afternoon or evening with us. You are just as likely to see a table of mates catching up over a few pints as a couple tucking in to three courses. We don't have any music playing, so the sounds and atmosphere are provided by our guests.

Thought this place had a better menu a couple of years ago. Good wine list and always packed with interesting people.more
I'm surprised to hear the poor service review, although it was mainly bar service, so we sent a friend to order drinks and food etc.
It's in a quiet street near Brook Green and has that very homely feel - yes, it's all wooden tables and mismatched chairs, but possibly the best thing was the home-made bread they serve with every food order.
I had a tasty ale and ordered fried mozzarella breaded...more
Off the busy Shepard's Bush Road, you find this nice pub nestled in a charming little neighbourhood. I came here to witness a meeting of minds for some new work, and it was great!
A few of my companions must frequent this place pretty often as they dying to get their hands on the pub's homemade bread. And rightly so! It was still warm, just the right temperature to melt the butter into it....more
An absolutely gorgeous pub, which sits in the heart of west London, really close to Shepherd's Bush, is the Havelock Tavern. It's about a 10 minute walk from the tube station and about 5 minutes from Kensington Olympia. We've been there so many time with our friends, Shepherd's Bush locals - it's their favourite local.
In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside and enjoy a Sunday pint over a...more
The pub has some nice things going for it - comfy, nice to look at, decent garden in back, good food - but it's pretty average in most ways.
The service is probably the poorest thing about the place: staff sometimes make it seem like they're doing you some huge favour by ignoring you for a minute and then taking your order.
I prefer the Bird in Hand...more
