The Catch - London
Overview
Is there any Briton out there who doesn’t love fish and chips? We’d bank on any straying nay-sayers being converted by Chiswick restaurant The Catch. Opened in 2006 on the dining room-heavy Chiswick High Road, The Catch is a traditional fish and chip shop with a contemporary twist. All off white walls and stripped back wooden floors, bistro furnishings and pavement seating, The Catch has the look and feel of a modern brasserie, a fitting setting for the signature updated fried favourites. Committed to using only 100% fresh ingredients, The Catch’s menu mixes traditional chip shop fayre with a more creative selection, as well as gourmet burgers and health conscious salads. An unusual addition to the dining experience here at The Catch is a bar, serving not only beers and spirits but a well rounded wine list including quality reds, whites and roses – an indication that The Catch is so much more than simply a local chippy.

We stopped in here because it was one of a few places open in that area and it looked decent. As we were tourists, we really...more
Want posh fish and chips ? eat in or takeaway ? - The Catch is the answer but I would suggest not as the norm.
Fish and chips to me means cheap and cheerful, you know what you are getting and it fits the bill at that time. This friendly and classy fish and chip "restaurant" is I think a little bit pricey but I guess you pay for what you get, I suppose and with a magic formula for the batter...more
