Itsu is a chain of Japanese restaurants that has emerged in recent times. The interior is very designer, with conveyor belts of sushi sliding past the glass shop front and little stools to perch on. The menu is a totally original mix of Japanese and European dishes. The plates are colour coded according to price. Itsu does not take reservations, but kindly asks their guests to entertain themselves in the bar area whilst waiting for a table.

Ah, takeaway sushi. Rather than go back to the nearby Pret, my eye caught Itsu and I wandered in. A takeaway style location, though with lots of seating, Itsu's focus is on bento-box style sushi and salad. They also have a frozen yogurt machine and will cheerfully adorn your cup with assorted fruits and nuts. Yummy.
Located right across St. Mary's Axe from the famous Gherkin building.
