I'm surprised Connolly's is getting such crap reviews! I thought it was pretty cool, though my only experience there was on St. Patrick's Day.

Some important things to note though:

-Even though it was St. Patrick's Day, the stout was still flowing into the wee hours. I heard some horror stories from friends which involved Guinness running out before 8pm. Not that I drink Guinness, but...more

It is a lads pub. The six massive flat screen televisions scream sport fanatic, they have Setanta Sports and Sky, and show football, rugby, to name a few. The food is not great, it very heap at £2 for a sandwich I can only imagine why it is so cheap. This is a very Irish bar - so if that is your thing then it may be for you. To be fair the food is not worth mentioning apart from saying that it is typical pub grub and is cheap.

Reasons to go here are basically as follows. You like a real local pub feel that has an Irish feel, you like watching horse racing, football, rugby or sports events but keep in mind a lot of these will be Irish...more
