Kensington Creperie

Alongside their usual freshly made crepes, waffles and homemade ice cream, Kensington Creperie is serving up a special treat this Pancake Day. Stuffed with caramelised apples, flambéed with calvados or rum, and topped with a red berry coulis, the crepes Normande are best accompanied with a glass of French cider.

No 11 Pimlico Road, No 32 The Old Town and No 1 Duke Street

This group of independent neighbourhood restaurants in Chelsea, Clapham and Richmond have something special planned this Pancake Day. Sample a mouthwatering range of warm and fluffy ricotta pancakes served with sweet and savoury toppings, such as bananas and peanut butterscotch (£7.50) or smoked salmon, crushed avocado and dill (£8.50).

The Rib Room

Choose from a selection of five pancake specials for breakfast or lunch at The Rib Room this Pancake Day, including decadent red velvet pancakes with cream cheese glaze and lighter lemon and poppy seed pancakes.  The restaurant will also offer the ‘mancake’ for those who prefer their pancakes more robust - a classic American pancake made with Guinness stout and finished with crispy bacon and maple syrup. And at dinner, guests can learn to flip a traditional crepe Suzette, then flambé it with the accompanying caramel, citrus and grande marnier sauce. 

Where the Pancakes Are at Habitat

Tuck into pancakes at Where the Pancakes Are's special pancake weekend pop-up in Habitat on Chelsea's King's Road. There's a great choice of toppings inspired by Californian, British and European flavours; including the likes of avocado and slow-roasted tomato or elderflower-infused strawberries with vanilla ice cream. With an ethos of "healthy indulgence" and the use of 30% buckwheat flour in their pancakes, this pop-up is sure to appeal to those wanting to find a healthier alternative to the traditional sugar-laden Shrove Tuesday treat.

Shutterbug

Take part in a Pancake Day extravaganza at Shutterbug this Shrove Tuesday. The Shoreditch cocktail bar and creperie will be serving up pancake styles from both sides of the pond. Try a savoury gallette with mushroom and truffle oil followed by a sweet crepe with salted caramel and flaked almonds. American-style pancakes topped with blueberries and bacon and drizzled with maple syrup will also be on the menu. Wash your pancake picks down with a signature Shutterbug Mardis Gras rum punch.

 

Balans Soho Society

Balans Soho will be serving up pancakes with panache this Pancake Day in Soho, Kensington, Westfield Stratford amd Westfield Shepherds Bush. Answer the call of your sweet tooth morning, afternoon or evening with a Banana and Ron Abuelo Anejo Rum pancake or Crepe Suzette (both £7).  

Rabbit

Head Chef Oliver Gladwin will be showing us how Pancake Day should be done by flipping orders of savoury and sweet pancakes to entertain guests at Rabbit this Shrove Tuesday. Think you can do it better? The restaurant will be asking confident customers to challenge the chef to a flipping competition.

The Botanist Sloane Square

Try a super-indulgent crepe stuffed with fresh lobster, mushroom and creamy smoked garlic bisque (£32) at The Botantist Sloane Square this Shrove Tuesday. The restaurant’s Pancake Day specials also include the Shorthorn fillet pancake "Wellington" with seared foie gras, truffle and bone marrow sauce (£28), and are available for lunch and dinner on Tuesday 9 February.

My Old Dutch

Swathes of Londoners will head to My Old Dutch in HolbornKensington and Chelsea this Shrove Tuesday, and for good reason. The cheerful pancake house serves a range of  sweet and savoury pancakes, including classics such as sugar and lemon (£6.25) and interesting alternatives topped with chilli con carne (£9.95). Tuck into a traditional Breton galette at this Richmond bistro. Chez Lindsay serves a range of savoury buckwheat pancakes, from the classic Compléte (£8.80) topped with eggs, cheese and ham, to the decadent Fruit De Mer (£11.75) which is stuffed with mixed fish, seafood and a tomato and cognac sauce. There are also a range of sweet French crepes on offer to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Get your pancake fix at any time at these all-day diners. The Breakfast Club serves up huge portions pancakes alongside other brunch and lunch dishes. Go all out with an American stack of pancakes served with eggs, sausage, bacon and home-style fried potatoes (£11) or keep it sweet by topping yours with berries and vanilla cream (£9).

Dive into stacks of buttermilk pancakes at all-American eatery Jackson + Rye. Try banana and maple syrup cream or blueberry compote with house whipped cream for breakfast and lunch, alongside meatballs, burgers, and a number of rye whiskies.
