Nordic Music Days: Surrounded By Strangers Workshop Performance at Southbank Centre Free

If you missed the performance in Chorus festival, this is your chance to hear a different interpretation of Surrounded by Strangers from amateur musicians.

Surrounded by Strangers is composed and staged by Eyvind Gulbrandsen. The singers perform in an open space where the audience can walk around and experience the work as an installation. The choir is composed of amateur singers who have participated in a short workshop to explore the piece with the composer Eyvind Gulbrandsen.

If you would like to perform in this piece, please book a free space in the workshop taking place on Saturday 30 September at 3pm.

Eyvind Gulbrandsen is a composer-in-residency with The South Iceland Chamber Choir. He develops his piece working with themed personal stories of the choir members, teased out using literary prompts, to create a sense of ownership of the music and lyrics they perform.
