Dave Holland and Julian Joseph lead a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the creative energy, and depth of variety in British Jazz: performing together for the very first time as part of a unique and eclectic programme.
Leading musicians in British jazz from across the generations and styles will perform together in a dual celebration of the 10th anniversary of the National Youth Jazz Collective, and 100 years of recorded jazz. In many cases, they will appear in combinations never been witnessed before.
This concert is the culmination of NYJC's 10th Birthday festival day when the charity is taking over Kings Place to showcase 10 years of work supporting young people to fulfil their potential as jazz musicians. During the day, there will be something for everyone, from morning workshops for young people who have never played jazz, to foyer performances, an exhibition celebrating 100 years of British jazz, NYJC's pinnacle end of summer school concert and culminating in this All Star Concert.
