The Scar Test
Based on verbatim interviews, The Scar Test explores life inside Yarl's Wood Detention Centre, a place in which those seeking safe haven are thrown into a dark world under lock and key where their lives are regulated, privacy is non-existent and where every detainee has a story to tell. Taking its title from a procedure used to determine whether detainees have undergone torture in their home countries, The Scar Test will take you on an unforgettable journey using physical theatre, humour and multiple languages.
The Scar Test is written by Hannah Khalil whose previous work includes Scenes from 68* Years (Arcola Theatre), The Deportation Room and Last of the Pearl Fishers (BBC Radio 4) and the Meyer-Whitworth Award nominated Plan D (Tristan Bates).
