Christian Gerhaher and his regular duo partner, Gerold Huber, return to Wigmore Hall to survey Brahms's Die schone Magelone, a cycle of 15 songs rooted in themes from medieval legend to poetry taken from Ludwig Tieck's Romantic novella about the beautiful Magelone, a Neapolitan princess, and her love for Count Peter of Provence.

The songs are interwoven with descriptive prose, read in English translation by actor Ulrich Tukur.
