In an increasingly complex world, more and more people seem to be looking for simple answers. Trained as a narrative therapist in Australia, Johannes Klabbers encourages people who are looking for a different way of being in the world to adopt a posthumanist approach which seeks to move beyond the binaries of human/non-human, self and other, and to embrace complexity, emphasising not difference but relationality.
Johannes's book 'I Am Here: Stories from a Cancer Ward' (Scribe 2016) tells the true story of an academic at a university in the Australian outback who takes voluntary redundancy and reinvents himself as a secular pastoral worker in a cancer hospital. The Australian called it "wonderfully insightful".
