Examine the differences between public perception and the reality of the art world through all-female contemporary works in Champagne Life at The Saatchi Gallery.
Following a successful inception in January – when it became the gallery's first all-female exhibition – Champagne Life returns with works by 16 up-and-coming women artists from around the world.
The title of the exhibition, taken from one of the pieces on display by Julia Wachtel, contrasts the perceived glamour of the art world with the reality of the hard work and long hours spent in the studio. It aims to play a role in highlighting the "glass ceiling" that female artists can experience when breaking through into the industry.
From paintings to sculptures, the wide variety of works on display highlights the breadth of the female artistic practice and includes new pieces by Aleksandra Mir, Jeni Spota and Phoebe Unwin.
