Hunt for gifts and indulge in seasonal treats at the vast Kingston Christmas Market.
This festive season, more than 100 traditional wooden chalets, as well as a heated marquee and two large outdoor bars, line Kingston upon Thames’ Ancient Market Place and its surrounding streets. Shop for Christmas gifts, decorations and art, warm up with mulled wine or hot chocolate, and tuck into German-style street food while enjoying Christmas carols and music.
Beneath the town centre’s sparkling lights, you can also find a traditional merry-go-round, glittering Christmas tree and several large-scale Nutcracker Kings and Soldiers.
The local Mayor will officially open the market at 5pm on 19 November, and if you’re in the area a little earlier, you can attend the light switch-on event with festive entertainment on 17 November.
The market is generally open between 9am and 10pm. The market closes at 8pm on 20, 21, 22, 23 and 27 November, and 4, 11, 18, 26, 27 and 28 December; and at 5pm on 24 and 31 December. The market is closed on Christmas Day.
